About Me

I live with my wife and our young son and daughter in St. Louis, where I’m the Vice President of Communications & Marketing for the nonprofit conservancy Forest Park Forever.

Former roles include Senior Strategist & Content Director for the creative agency TOKY and Editor-in-Chief of St. Louis Magazine.

I’m a graduate of Marquette University (BA in English), Northwestern University (MA in Liberal Studies) and the nine-month Leadership St. Louis program (2018-19) within FOCUS St. Louis.

For a good portion of my adult life I’ve been engaged in literary pursuits. This includes serving as editor and publisher of The Ear’s Mouth Must Move: Essential Interviews of William H. Gass and Abstractions Arrive: Having Been There All the Time, an essay by William H. Gass paired with photographs by Michael Eastman; launching and editing Reading William Gass, a resource for readers of this celebrated American author; editing (with TOKY colleagues) Fires, Fuel and the Fate of 3 Billion (Oxford, 2013), three books from Wisconsin Historical Society Press and the exhibition catalogue for “Reflections of the Buddha” at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation; and publishing essays and articles in publications including The Believer, Identity Theory, St. Louis Magazine, The Capital Times, Pop Matters, The Quarterly Conversation, Washington University in St. Louis Magazine, and PLAYBACK:stl, where I edited the books section.
